Case Closed

During this term, we have been doing a crime scene we have to solve, and Mrs Taffee came to confess that she did the crime, we had proof so she could not lie. The proof was that: She came on the day the crime happen, her shoe is the right size, she went to the hairdressers after she dropped off stuff at school, Her fingerprints were on the crime scene, and of course there is much more proof.

Who: Mrs Taffee

What: Stole the HDMI and took a few Milky Ways (18).

Where: Whetu team, Milky Way room.

How:  Her casting was not working so she decided to take the HDMI in Whetu, she went to the office to turn off the alarm. She took the HDMI and a few Milky Ways.

When: Sunday 11th at 3pm was when the crime was discovered.

Athletics Reflection Term 4

Yesterday was athletics day and I competed in the 9-year-olds.
Sadly I didn't make it into any finals in the running races. The 200 meters was the most challenging one I found cause there were soooo many fast people in the race.

The event I found the most enjoyable was shot-put, I love that I kept getting better on each try I do. ( I used Courage when I try to get better )

It was fun to cheer on other people from the grandstand even if I cheer on people from different house colors.

Whetu Challenge Week 3: Wanted poster

During Week 3 I and my friend Stephanie went on a mission to make the most WEIRDEST, most CRINGEST wanted poster of all!!!

Now we have to talk about the poster we made...
The First name of our character was made by my dear friend Stephanie, she chose Jeffery.
I chose the last name, I wanted to make a pumpkin so I chose a weird word and pumpkin, then mixed together to make McWonkyPumpkin.

Look down to see the photo of our wanted poster:

Fingerprinting Rotation

Today Fred the Moths got to make their fingerprints.
The steps we had to do were:

Step 1: Rub your thumb into your hair to make it greasy.

Step 2: Press lightly on the window to receive your fingerprint.

Step 3: Carefully dust your fingerprint, then put tape over it.

Step 4: Remove the tape and place it on a black piece of paper.

Here is how my fingerprint turned out:

On Tuesday Sally came and explained what her job was,, it was finding fingerprints. I got to make my thumb fingerprint on the window.

Look at my fingerprints:

First Impressions on the First Day of School

On Monday the first day of school, my first impressions were... "Why is there tape in front of the door?" then I just ignored it and carried on with the things I do in the morning.  Then it was time for class it was the first time I saw the crime scene, my mind was quite confused.  Then I read the whiteboard. I think the whole idea of solving the crime is very exciting. I am excited to figure out the culprit!!!!

On the second day, we all brought our vegetables and cut them all up into small little slices.

On the third day, we ate the vegetable soup. (It was delicious)

The part that I like the most was chopping up my potato and eating the buttered bread.

Cross Country Reflection 2020

This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain.  I ran in the - 9 age group.

I am most proud of me doing my best even if I wanted to stop and lie down.

I think my effort towards our training at school was to get at least to do 2 small laps or more.

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by never stopping and keep walking or running and maybe to encourage others behind me to keep going.

Chapter chat challenge Term 2

This week for chapter chat I did Creat. The challenge was to make a Freak out meter or Freak out scale. My Freak Out Scale is very colorful, It was my favorite color to my most disliked color. Also if you look closely to the O in out it has a freaking out face. I also added 0% at the end to make it different. My favorite part of the scale was the...10% because it says "Scream until your voice breaks" I think it's very funny. 😂

Egg Drop Challenge Term 3

Today I did the Whetu challenge with Shylah-Faye and Kiarna.

To make the construction we used. Newspaper,  string, scissors, tape, a balloon and an old sock.

We failed to keep the egg safe. (Maybe cause we jinxed it by naming the egg Mr. Crack)

This Whetu challenge was very enjoyable and fun. I loved working with Shylah-Faye and Kiarna.

Letter of the week P. Term 2

This week I did letter of the week, the letter is P. In this week's one I used one of my edits, I used her cause she was wearing pink.

Edits

On the Holidays I've been working on my editing skills, I have improved a lot,

This is the first one I did, I just started to shade and make semi-realistic eyes!!!

The second one, here if ya look closely I added my own design of mouth and my shading got better, the same as the eyes.

Then the one I'm at now, Little fingers were added, New design of eyes if you look closely, Shading is more vibrant.

Next, I'll probably work on line art :)

For me, I'm very happy with my work and edits, and yes I have more.
I'll show you two more

Whetu Term 2 Reflection 2020

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is N.O.D/Number of the day because it has different questions to answer, so it was not boring to answer the same questions.

Something that has challenged me this term has been the art since I’m sometimes a chatterbox, so it was a little hard to concentrate.

The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the first one we ever did back at school, THE MILK BOTTLE CHALLENGE. I loved this challenge because I could let out my creativity go crazy.

The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was Roll-A-Drawing, I loved this workshop because you never know what you’re going to get when you roll the dice.

An aim I have for my learning is to stop saying I’m not proud of my learning and say that I’m proud of any kind of learning.

Weekend drawing

During the weekend I made a drawing because I was bored, so I am a fun of Cute and aesthetic looks on my drawings. I made a cute character on the weekends. I also did a new face, I normally do open eyes and normal eyebrows, but I went for something different. I'm really happy with this drawing because I sometimes make fail drawings.

EGG CARTON CREATION Week 11

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

I used egg cartons (of course), red paper, sharpie, and a hot glue gun.

It was kind of hard since my plan was not really accurate.

It did not turn out as planned because I originally was going to make a Lizard, then a Caterpillar, then a Snake!!!

It was sooo fun, even though I got a little stressed out and confused.

I would love to do this challenge again to improve it cause my snake looks a little weird.

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be easy peasy lemon squeezy,
but it was difficult to find the right paper plane design!!!

I decided to use the design Javer, I think. I did not do the standard design case it didn't work.

The hardest part was to get a perfect shot because when it came to the finals there was lots of
pressure.

During our competition time, I managed to score around 30+ maybe?

This is me with my plane I didn't have a lot of time to decorate, but it still looks pretty!

Blog Challenge Week 10

This is my blog challenge for week 10, its a Birthday card!!!! I hope that Mr. Fraser and Miss Coles will use my Birthday card!!!

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper,
2 straws, and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball
and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).

Today I worked with Maddie and Jessie, they are great people to work with, always focused.

At first, we had trouble with holding the tower together cause it kept falling over.

The easiest thing was Getting the tower to stand because we found a way to make the legs
stay!!

The best part of our tower was The little owl face on the front although you can't see it.

Our tower looked Weird and Cute at the same time!!!

In the end, this was not a success. The ball kept falling off and the tower keeps falling
on its side because it was lopsided.

Read and Predict #1

Today I finished the Read and Predict activity, and I think what I wrote will happen next. I'm really proud of this Read and Predict because I have good proof of what will happen next. Unlike my last Read and Predict on Maddie's book (The one and only Evan).

About my pets, Week 8 Blog Challenge

Today for my blog challenge I made a google drawing that talks about my pets, They are goldfish. Their names are Goldie, Snowy, Sunny, Brownie. Read the google drawing to know more about my pets!!! I am certainly proud of this blog challenge, it was fun to write about my pets.

Catapult challenge

Whetu Catapult Challenge

Overall I think that the most challenging part was: I didn't find these challenging since the tutorial
made it easy.

Our best results were 1 meter and 1 foot in the sky!!!!

To make my catapult I worked with Lola and Kiarna.

Overall I think that this was successful, but it was a little difficult to work with someone new,
since sometimes Lola can a little bossy.
